About

I am a scientist, writer, and editor thinking about how we investigate and relate to the living world. I spent 15 years in academic research at UCSF, the University of Chicago (where I did my PhD), and MIT. My research focused on the cell biology of cancer, cellular biophysics, and the immune system. Since 2021 I have been a Scientific Editor at the Rockefeller University Press, starting at the Journal of Cell Biology, and now leading the affiliated journal Life Science Alliance.
